Street Runners BANGER!

I just started making this beat so i thought i would post up a quick view of it.
I heard this sample about nickel and diming and selling drugs etc.. It has some really dope horns on it so i choped up the vocal sample and horn stabs. Cooked that up for a bit then added some bangin drums and extra bass over it. This is definetly going to be a summer chune once i'm done with it. as always, BAAAAAANGER!!!

Olatunji! - Drums Of Passion Rare Vinyl Rip

These are African drum patterns. This is not your ordinary snare hi hat and kicks type of drums. This double sided LP is filled with war drums, bongos, etc.

These drums are very useful for puting under your already layed down drums for more percussion and added feelings to your beat.

Olatunji won a following among jazz musicians, notably creating a strong relationship with John Coltrane and Columbia Records A&R man John Hammond who signed him to the Columbia label in 1957. With Coltrane's help, he founded the Olatunji Center for African Culture in Harlem. This was the site of Coltrane's final performance. In 1959 Olatunji released his first of six records on the Columbia label, called Drums of Passion.

In 1969, Carlos Santana had a major hit with his cover version of this first album's "Jin-go-lo-ba", which Santana recorded on his debut album, Santana, as "Jingo." Olatunji favoured a big percussion sound, and his records typically featured more than 20 players, unusual for a percussion based ensemble. Drums of Passion became a major hit and remains in print; it introduced many Americans to world music. Drums of Passion also served as the band's name. Notable band members included; Clark Terry, Bill Lee, Horace Silver, Yusef Lateef, Sikiru Adepoju and Charles Lloyd, among others.

Etta James - Sings For Lovers LP 1962 Rare Soul Vinyl Rip

Another rare old soul record that I have ripped. I love my 60's Soul. This is hard to find or even come by at that. Just by looking at the cover you can see how this rare gem would be passed up when skimming through the crates for records.

James is the winner of four Grammys and seventeen Blues Music Awards. She was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1993, the Blues Hall of Fame in 2001, and the Grammy Hall of Fame in both 1999 and 2008.

In the 1950s and 1960s, she had her biggest success as a blues and R&B singer.

Producer Battle @King Of The Dot Round 1

This is a video of me involved in a Producers Battle going up against fellow Producer T-Rupt hosted by King Of The Dot.

You've probably heard about the KOTD freestyle battle league and even watched a few videos of it also on YouTube.

Well now there is a producers section to this battling style. This was a full out 16 producer head-to-head battle, winner advances. One beat per round, OT plays another beat if neccessary until there is only one standing for a grand prize of cash.

The first round in this battle ended up being a tie so a second beat was played. Big up to T-Rupt as we both brought some serious heat to the table.

Fooling Around With Some Bass Chops

I took some really nice heavy sounding bass chops from a disco record i was listening to. I took the bass sample chops and layered them with the same bass sample chop but filtered just to bring out the low bass.

I was playing around with all the chops and decided it sounded alright enough to release as a download for others to enjoy. It resembles a DJ Premier beat very heavily.

I make all kinds of beats for the fun of it just to stay in touch with all styles of beats.

This is how i keep music fun; I take bass chops and guitar rifs and just bang em out on the pads and have fun. This is recorded live with me playing the chops with some off beat kicks. Enjoy.
